Find out how our whitening system could get your smile brighter in no time.
When those at-home whitening products aren’t doing the trick it’s time you turned to your Owings Mills, MD dentists Drs. Herbert and Harold Mendelson for one of the most popular and effective whitening systems around. Find out more about Zoom! and how it will get your pearly whites whiter.
What is Zoom! teeth whitening?
This is one of the most popular ways to bleach your smile and to remove stains and discolorations from the outer layers of your teeth. Zoom! teeth whitening is performed right here in our Owings Mills dental office and is one of the most effective ways to get a significantly brighter smile in just one one-hour visit.
How does it work?
The Zoom! whitening gel contains a strong percentage of hydrogen peroxide (more than you’ll ever find in an over-the-counter product). As the gel is applied to the teeth it is broken down. As a result, oxygen enters into the outer layers of the tooth to break apart stains and discolorations and to help whiten your teeth.
The Zoom! light is also used to activate the whitening gel to help penetrate through the layers of the teeth to get to the stains. The Zoom! light is what increases the efficacy of the whitening session and can get some smiles up to eight shades whiter.
Who should consider getting teeth whitening in Owings Mills?
Most patients dealing with external stains caused by foods, drinks, cigarettes or aging can benefit from all that professional teeth whitening has to offer. In fact, these stains usually respond the best to treatment. However, teeth whitening is not designed for those with internal stains, or those looking to brighten dental work like crowns, fillings or bridges.
Is it safe?
Yes, research has found that professional teeth whitening is completely safe for your smile. Because we can monitor your treatment right here in our office you’re less likely to experience issues than you would if you were whitening at home. Keep in mind that whitening treatment is not right for children under 13 years old or for pregnant or nursing women.
How long will my results last?
This will depend on a couple different factors including your diet, whether you smoke and how well you care for your teeth. If you maintain good oral hygiene and avoid foods and drinks like wine, coffee, berries and tomato sauces that can stain teeth then your results will last longer. With the proper care, your whiter smile could last a couple of years. Also note that you can continue to maintain your results by opting for our at-home system.
Are you ready to achieve that brighter smile? Then it’s time to visit your cosmetic dentist in Owings Mills, MD to find out if Zoom! Whitening is right for you. Turn to Mendelson Family Dentistry for all of your dental needs.
